Not long ago, whether an idea could become a real thing depended on whether you knew how to build it. If you did not, it stayed an idea.
The pattern is probably familiar: something in your head is clear enough — you know what it should look like, you know which annoyance it removes — and then you think about where to even start, and you put it back. Not because you do not want it. Because the path looks long.
Which part AI shortened
AI does not decide what to build for you. What it changed is the distance of the building part.
The stretch that used to require learning something properly, finding someone, or failing repeatedly can now often be walked in an afternoon. That changes the nature of a lot of things: they stop being questions of “can I” and become questions of “should I”.
The things that stopped being ideas
Once the building part gets shorter, things that used to sit at the idea stage start moving.
Not all of them deserve to be built — but they are no longer only thinkable. What used to be “it would be nice if there were a…” can now be an actual thing, openable, usable.
That is what lives here.
Where the boundary moved to
One thing is worth stating plainly: what widened is the reach of your hands, not your judgement, and not your time.
AI will not decide which thing is worth doing, and it will not still be maintaining it a year from now. The bottleneck moved from “I cannot build this” to “is this worth building” and “will it survive being built”. Those two are still yours.
Which is why there is no publishing schedule here, and no promise of one. Pages change when something ships — the only cadence worth committing to.
The name
Broaden is the short mark for the logo; the sentence is the idea.
Broadening what you can build is not about headcount or scale. It is about how far an idea can travel once building is no longer the hardest step — from a notion in your head to something real, out on the web.
